The Seven Veils
The first veil is the herd;
country, tribe or state.
The herd fears the other herds.
Drop this veil and retain yourself.
The second veil is the good;
prudence, pity, light.
The good denies the bad.
Drop this veil and retain your value.
The third veil is value;
truth, wealth and vitality.
Value denies freedom.
Drop this veil and lose yourself.
The fourth veil are tongues;
words, commands, preaching.
It denies understanding, but says otherwise.
Drop this veil and obtain the truth.
The fifth veil is love;
procreation, self-pity.
Love denies everything else.
Drop this veil, and feel everything
The sixth veil is faith;
god, justice, revenge.
Faith denies reason.
Drop this veil and know.
The last veil, the seventh, is you;
ego, me, me and me.
You are afraid of being you.
You want to be me.
Drop this veil, and be the world.
